The National Court Reporters Association has started a new program connecting students with experienced reporters in a Virtual Mentors Program. Students can browse through the catalog of mentors on NCRA's Web site at www.verbatimreporters.com and choose a mentor who can offer insight, advice and support. The relationship will be mainly by e-mail, so students get the added benefit of starting a relationship with a court reporter across the country or across the state.
NCRA is excited to offer this opportunity not only to students, but to court reporters as well. Court reporters in other mentoring programs have said that they gain as much from the relationship as their protégés. And mentoring a student now helps ensures the future of the profession.
